Payments are no longer a back-end function in iGaming. SBC's own agenda for the Payment Expert Summit describes them as a factor in where customers choose to play, and it sets out to explore how businesses build payment stacks that are fast, secure and able to keep pace with regulation. For a business like ours, that makes this year's SBC Summit one of the most relevant dates in the calendar. Here's where you'll find us, and how to get time with our team while we're there.

SBC Summit returns to Lisbon from 29 September to 1 October 2026, held across FIL and MEO Arena. The Payment Expert Summit is one of six stages built into this year's conference agenda, alongside Global & Emerging Markets, Technology & Innovation, Regulation & Compliance, the Affiliate Leaders Summit (which requires its own separate ticket) and the Super Stage at MEO Arena.
For PaymentGenes, that makes the Payment Expert Summit the natural home base for the three days. Bram Vreugdenhil, our Co-Founder, and Neill Butcher, our Chief Strategy Officer, will both be attending, splitting their time between that stage and the wider show floor.
Each day of the Payment Expert Summit is dedicated to a different track. Tuesday 29 September covers Fintech. Wednesday 30 September is given over to Global Payment Compliance, bringing together operators, compliance specialists, payment leaders, legal experts and technology providers to examine payment regulation, fraud prevention and anti-money laundering controls. Thursday 1 October closes the programme with Crypto & Blockchain.
Away from the stage, the Payment Expert Summit has its own dedicated area in Hall 4, home to more than 75 payments, fintech, technology and compliance exhibitors. For anyone looking to make several introductions in a short space of time, Payments Speed Networking runs on Wednesday 30 September from 16:00 to 17:00.
The event is expected to bring together around 40,000 industry professionals in 2026, which is as good a reason as any to get a meeting in the diary before the floor fills up. If payments hiring, AML and compliance roles, or crypto and blockchain talent are on your agenda, our team will be there and happy to talk it through. Get in touch to book time with Bram or Neill ahead of the show.

The EU's Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) has been operational since July 2025, and 2026 is the year most of its technical standards are due to land - the bulk of them by July, ahead of the single EU AML Regulation coming into force in July 2027.
